I wait
With bated breath
Before you
Waiting for you
To come to life
Your graceful form
Swathed in garments
Seemingly wet
A veil over your face.
Grace personified
You stand
On your pedestal
One hand raised
Modest and withdrawn
The breeze
Seems to rustle
Your white wet clothes
Soothing them dry.
I wait
For the veil
To flutter
To see your smile
Your eyes downcast
And demure,
To lift.
The hand
That shaped
Your marble clothes
And the seemingly thin
Veil over your face
Is that of a great artist
Even if he may not be
Giovanni Benzoni....
